Summary
This proposal introduces a mechanism to incentivize and reward meaningful engagement within the Guru Network ecosystem through weekly airdrops, distributed via the Ecosystem Chest. By rewarding activities such as governance participation, application usage, and ecosystem contributions, the system promotes sustainable community involvement and long-term network growth.
Background
The Guru Network seeks to cultivate a thriving community around its decentralized applications and governance framework. However, sustaining user engagement and ensuring contributions are meaningful pose ongoing challenges.
This proposal addresses these challenges by introducing the Ecosystem Chest, an on-chain treasury designed to distribute rewards to users based on their contributions. The system also integrates a gated access to the mainnet, ensuring that only active and invested community members receive rewards and benefits.
Inspired by successful practices in decentralized ecosystems, the model combines token-gated access, progressive rewards, and activity-based incentives to create a balanced and sustainable growth strategy.

Overview of the Incentivization & Airdrop Mechanism
Ecosystem Chest
The Ecosystem Chest is an on-chain treasury that serves as the source of rewards distributed to users based on their contributions and activities within the Guru ecosystem.
Reward Pool Allocation
Weekly Cycles (Epochs): The system operates on a weekly basis, with each cycle referred to as an epoch.
Token Source: Core Contributors vote on the amount of tokens to be distributed for community rewards each epoch. These tokens are deposited into the Ecosystem Chest from the Airdrop Community Pool, which constitutes 20% of the total $GURU supply. Allocations are adjusted to match demand and ensure sustainable growth of the ecosystem.
Start Date: The first epoch begins on November 27, 2024.
Weekly Reward Distribution
At the start of each epoch, allocated tokens are transferred to the Ecosystem Chest. These tokens are distributed as rewards to apps users for the following activities on mainnet:
- Completing Guru Network ecosystem-wide quests.
- Completing app-specific quests (e.g., in Burning Meme, Miles Deutscher, CrossFi, etc.).
- Interacting with Guru-powered applications (e.g., trading automations, AI processors, swaps matching, NFT minting, Memecoin launching, etc).
- Conducting marketing activities to promote ecosystem growth.
- Other activities aligned with network sustainability and growth.
Amount of rewards for ecosystem-wide activities is determined by Core Contributors. Amount of rewards for AI chatbots and app specific activities is determined by the teams running those apps.
Any unused rewards for a given epoch are carried over to the next, remaining in the Ecosystem Chest for future distribution.
Initial Mainnet Reward Distribution
Upon the launch of the Guru Network mainnet, users will receive initial rewards to kickstart their participation in the ecosystem when they log in to the mainnet for the first time. These rewards are distributed to incentivize early adoption and recognize contributions made during the testnet phase. The allocation of these rewards will be determined based on the following criteria:
- Ownership of Guru Network NFTs
- Testnet Activity (users who actively participated in testnet activities, such as completing quests, testing applications, and interacting with Guru AI chatbots, etc)
- Testnet Points Accumulation
The exact weight of those criteria is determined by Core Contributors.
Reward Usage
Rewards flow into app-specific operational wallets and can be used within the apps. Transfers out of these wallets are subject to a cooldown period to prevent misuse and ensure ecosystem integrity. The exact mechanism will be defined on app level and introduced additionally.
Eligibility for Rewards
Only Guru Network community members are eligible for rewards. Membership is defined as holding any of the following NFTs:
- Guru Season Passes
- Themed Guru NFTs (e.g., Spooky Guru)
- Guru Network DAO NFTs
The list of eligible NFTs may be expanded to include new collections or applications as the ecosystem evolves.
Testnet and Mainnet Access
With the Guru Network mainnet launch, the system introduces two types of access to its applications:
Mainnet Access
- Operates on the Guru Network mainnet, offering a complete user experience and advanced features.
- Rewards are distributed exclusively on the mainnet.
- Access is restricted to Guru Network community members holding eligible NFTs, such as Guru Season Passes or Guru DAO NFTs.
- Applications within the ecosystem can implement mechanics tailored to their specific use cases.
Guru PointsNet Access
- Operates as the Guru Network testnet and is open to all users.
- Provides an opportunity to explore and experiment with Guru AI chatbots and applications.
- Users earn points (name may vary per app) for their activities, which can be redeemed to become a Pro Community Member and gain mainnet access.
- Testnet applications may have limited features compared to mainnet counterparts.
This dual-access system encourages user engagement during the testnet phase while incentivizing migration to the mainnet through rewards and exclusive access.
